We recognize the fact that the nature of our services results in an overall impact on the environment, and that by conducting our business in a responsible and thoughtful manner, we can reduce this impact and act to improve the quality of the environment where appropriate.
We are currently working towards implementing environmental measures to try and limit the Gresham Belson Hotel’s ‘Carbon Footprint’. Some of the measures which we are working on include:
- Recycling glass, plastic, paper, cardboard and cans, including all the newspapers left behind in the bedrooms.
- Re-fitting all the lights throughout the hotel with low energy bulbs to reduce our energy consumption.
- Water saving devices are fitted in the toilet cisterns and urinals which help to save water in our hotel.
- We have introduced a towel re-use program at the discretion of the guests to reduce detergent and water usage.
There are many more measures in place in the hotel and our committed ‘Green Team’ meets every month to discuss new ideas for expanding our efforts further.
